don't despair, angie! the temperature should be up to 19 degrees by wednesday...
memo to self: remember not to pack the 2 identical black jumpers that have just come out of the wash; wash 4 identical black summer tops instead, and pray they're dry for 9.51am tomorrow morning. that will leave the customary 5 minutes for throwing everything into the nearest available suitcase and running to the car, 30 seconds for running back into the house for passport and picking up that spare pair of 'just in case' shoes, 30 seconds for returning to the house again to check the oven's not still on and that the door really is locked after all, then 3 minutes to drive at top speed to helen's - checking periodically that my passport really is where i left it just seconds before, and i haven't accidentally thrown it out of the car window - before alison gets there and shouts at me for being late. oh yes, nothing can possibly go wrong.
